Her untimely death in July was said to have robbed popular music of one of its most precocious talents. But Amy Winehouse evidently had done enough work in a studio to make a temporary return from the grave. According to news trickling in, Winehouse’s musical partners, Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi have been going through some of her unreleased recordings and figure they have enough for one final album from the lady. Titled Lioness: Hidden Treasures, the album will hit stores on December 5, and will feature a dozen numbers, including her last recording, a duel with Tony Bennet Body & Soul. And, in a touch that we are sure Winehouse herself would have liked, a portion of the revenues generated from the sales of the album will go to assist disadvantaged children and young adults. We are reasonably sure that Lioness will top the charts around the world. We are just keeping our fingers crossed that it does not turn out a desperate rehash of work that Winehouse might not have released for reasons of quality. After all, we did see that happen with a certain Michael Jackson, didn’t we?
