Saaho is an upcoming Indian trilingual action thriller film written and directed by Sujeeth, and produced by UV Creations and T-Series. The film stars Prabhas, Shraddha Kapoor, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Arun Vijay, Jackie Shroff and others in supporting roles. It is being shot simultaneously in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages. Filming began in June 2017.
The film is made on a budget of 300 crore, which includes the use of VFX. The film was shot in Hyderabad, Mumbai, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Romania and other parts of Europe. The filming for the movie began in August 2017. Actors like Arun Vijay, Jackie Shroff, Lal, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Mandira Bedi were roped in along with the leads, Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor. A better part of the budget was spend to shoot some action scenes for the film. Also, international stunt choreographer Kenny Bates has been zeroed in to supervise the major action scenes.
The first schedule of the film in Hyderabad was completed in October 2017. The second schedule of the film started in December 2017 at Ramoji Film Studio. According to the producers of the film, the actress Shraddha Kapoor, for which Saaho marks her Telugu debut, has shot action sequences in the film with heavy weaponry. The actor Neil Nitin Mukesh plays the prime antagonist and actors like Jackie Shroff and Chunkey Pandey will be seen in supporting roles. The third schedule began in January 2018 in Hyderabad and Mumbai which after lasting for a few days, shifted to Dubai for a month wherein some major action sequences were shot with actors Prabhas and Neil Nitin Mukesh. Meanwhile, Shraddha Kapoor switched to her next venture, Stree. After shooting half of the film in locations of Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Dubai, the cast and crew of Saaho began with the fourth schedule of the film in Abu Dhabi in February 2018 and ended within a few weeks. The fifth schedule of the film, also in Abu Dhabi, started in late-February. After, this, the sixth schedule of the film would start in mid-March in locations like Dubai and Romania.
An action sequence in the film which has to be featured in an exceptional long time in the screenplay of the film, was shot extensively near Burj Khalifa during this schedule, for which 25 crore from the budget had been allotted. Apparently, Prabhas had gone under rigorous training for the same. His preparation involved cardiovascular training, weight training and plyometric obstacle races. Prabhas, on the other side praising his co-star Shraddha Kapoor, said that she is the best choice for the film. Her character is very important and adds a lot of weight to the story of the film. She had shot some amazing action sequences for the film and holds a strong character in the film whereas Prabhas’ character is a grey-shaded fictitious role. He plays the character of a cop which will keep the audience guessing until the end.
Also, Saaho would feature some underwater sequences with Prabhas and for the same, Prabhas had learnt scuba diving. Saaho marks the Bollywood debut for Prabhas and the Tollywood debut for Shraddha Kapoor. Prabhas will be dubbing his own lines in Hindi version while a professional dubbing artist will dub for Shraddha Kapoor in the Telugu version. Directed by Sujeeth, the movie will feature Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh as the antagonist. Not only Neil, but TV and Bollywood actress Mandira Bedi, who is known for her grey roles on small screen, will play an out and out negative role in the film.
The music of the film is composed by Ghibran. With Lyrics Written by Sri Mani in Telugu, Madhan Karky in Tamil, and Javed Akhtar in Hindi.

Saaho Movie Review:
High on style, low on substance
“They are not going to stop until they kill us,” declares the swashbuckling hero Prabhas as he tries to protect his colleague and lover Shraddha Kapoor from a bunch of gun-toting villains spraying bullets indiscriminately in his new action thriller Saaho.
It’s a grim reality that could easily be extended to the audience who had to sit through the incredibly slick and star-powered, but spectacularly soulless film, directed by Sujeeth.
Swagger and style is no replacement for a solid, coherent story is a chief take after surviving this testosterone charged drivel. While you admire the beautifully, perfectly-timed car chases and vehicle explosions, your mind is likely to be blown away by the lack of content.
The movie opens in a futuristic and fictional place called Waaji City filled with criminals in the quest for power and shady deals.
There’s a vacuum when its patriarch played by Jackie Shroff is murdered by an insider from his conscience-starved clan and a bloody hustle for his replacement plays out. All the villains in Saaho are unidimensional and live in a morally reprehensible bubble where businessmen in suits maim their fathers in anger.
Between all this bloody carnage, there’s a convoluted bank robbery thrown into the mix. It’s almost impossible to keep up with the double crossing and triple crossing that play out in Saaho. At some point, you might even cease to care.
Unless you are a die-hard fan of Prabhas and adore witnessing souped-up cars and trucks being blown up randomly, you are unlikely to find any satisfaction in Saaho.
The romance in Saaho where a self-assured undercover cop hits on his fetching work partner Amritha Nair, played suitably by Kapoor, at her workplace is also deeply problematic. A dialogue which has Prabhas salaciously checking Amrutha out and comment that she is too pretty to be a police officer is blatantly sexist and disturbing to watch. Such toxic locker room talk has no place in a thriller purportedly set in a futuristic world.
But that isn’t the only thing that rubs you the wrong way. Dark complexioned villains in dreadlocks that spring out of nowhere during the inflated climax is a disappointing example of stereotypic certain ethnicities in films. Large beefy men with gigantic torsos and gargantuan tattoos are wholly charmless too. While Chunkey Pandey, Lal and Mahesh Manjrekar try to be menacing, they are let down by poorly-written lines. Hamming seems to be a bloody sport in Saaho.
There’s also a lot going on in Saaho. On the surface, it’s a mindless-and-ambitious action thriller, but it also aspires to be a romantic film laced with betrayal and deceit. When things go south, they also insert swish songs where there’s ample skin and sun to be enjoyed. Songs with lyrics such as “you are a bad boy and I will be your bad girl” featuring a bodacious Jacqueline Fernandez in the tiniest denims shorts feels unwanted, especially in a film that would have benefited a lot from trimming. Just short of three hours, Saaho is an exhausting film that focus on style and not substance. While the action sequences set in Abu Dhabi, choreographed by Kenny Bates and the set designs by Sabu Cyril, are impressive, there’s little else going on for Saaho. Even a shirtless Prabhas gliding down a mountain like a superhero with gleaming torsos is a sight to behold, there’s no strong landing here. Watch this at your own risk.

Psycho Saiyaan Song Teaser
The teaser of the first song from Saaho titled Psycho Saiyaan is out and is enough to hint what actors Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor are set to offer in the much-anticipated dance number. While Shraddha is seen grooving seductively to foot-tapping music in a glittery short dress, it is a welcome change to see Baahubali actor Prabhas matching dance steps with her.
The multi-lingual song has been sung by Dhvani Bhanushali and composed by Tanishk Bagchi. The latter has also written the song with additional lyrics by Sreejo.
Directed by Sujeeth and produced by Vamsi and Pramod, Saaho is set to hit theatres on Independence Day, August 15 this year. It is expected to clash with Bollywood film, Mission Mangal, which boasts of a huge star cast including Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha, Vidya Balan, Kirti Kulhari and Sharman Joshi.
Shraddha will be seen playing the role of a bold cop and has several action scenes in the film. It also stars Mahesh Manjrekar, Mandira Bedi, Jackie Shroff, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Murli Sharma and Chunky Pandey. The film has been shot in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi simultaneously at a number of stunning locations in India and abroad.
