Shyam Bihari was a 'Lohar', a blacksmith by profession till he discovered the aptitude he had for music. He got into it full time and now runs a big group of musicians and dancers. They are well known in Allahabad and perform for various functions.
His music is populist - though based on the rustic folk - it incorporates elements which make it appealing to a wider audience. Adding dance to the performance - of course makes it visually appealing as well.
