Who is Wahab Riaz? Wahab Riaz is a Pakistani cricketer. A left-arm fast bowler and a right-hand batsman, he is considered to be a bowling all-rounder. He is a former student of Islamia College, Civil Lines, Lahore.

He made his international debut in a One Day International against Zimbabwe in 2008, taking two and he played one more ODI against Bangladesh shortly after, taking two more wickets. He also played the Twenty20 International which followed and took one wicket.

Riaz was chosen in the squad for the tri-series in Bangladesh which also included India and in his first match against Bangladesh, he was Pakistan’s best bowler and finished the game with an impressive return of 3 wickets for 22 runs in 7 overs and in the next match although he took two important Indian wickets he conceded 85 runs.

Wahab made his test debut against England in the third test of the 2010 series.

As the world’s fastest bowler Shoaib Akhtar has resigned from International cricket, Pakistan needed a strong back-up bowler to replace the great paceman and they discovered the one in shape of Wahab Riaz in the semi-final match against India. The left-arm fast bowler kept on clocking around 150 kph or more regularly on a flat Mohali pitch and got the reward as he recorded his best figures in his One Day International career.
