New South Wales Blues are a first class limited overs Australian cricket side that play their cricket at Stadium Australia based in Sydney. The NSW Blues participate along with five other domestic teams in Australia's premier domestic annual T20 event, the KFC Twenty20 Big Bash, organised every year since 2005-06.

New South Wales Blues are no strangers to CLT20. They were one of 12 teams that participated in the inaugural edition held in India in 2009. The Australian side even went on to become the first team to win CLT20 when they beat Trinidad and Tobago in the final of that tournament. Brett Lee put up an all-round performance in that match as he hit his highest T20 score, 48, and took two wickets for 10 to give the Blues a 41-run win.

Playing in the 2010-11 KFC Twenty20 Big Bash, the Blues had an inconsistent ride. They began the tournament with a 21-run win over South Australian Redbacks but slipped to just two wins out of their five remaining games in the league stage. Yet, having emerged as the third best team in the league stage, the Blues managed to qualify for the preliminary final where they played Tasmania.

The preliminary final was a one-sided contest as Blues bowler Patrick Cummins took four for 16 to bowl Tasmania out for a mere 103 runs in 17 overs. David Warner, the Blues opening batsman, then blitzed his way to an unbeaten 70 off just 49 deliveries to give them a nine-wicket win and an opportunity to play the South Australian Redbacks in the final.

New South Wales Blues just couldn't match up to the Redbacks in the final. Having scored 153 in 20 overs, they were subjected to an eight-wicket defeat by the South Australian side. Nevertheless, having finished as runners-up, the NSW Blues have the opportunity to repeat their CLT20 2009 success at CLT20 2011.
