Vomiting is a highly integrated and complex reflex involving both autonomic and somatic neural pathway synchronous contraction of diaphragm, intercostals muscles and abdominal muscles that raises intra-abdominal pressure and is combined with relaxation of lower oesophageal sphincters resulting in forcible ejection of gastric content.

Vomiting contains food particles, bile, water and sometimes blood. Presence of blood indicates bleeding from stomach, small intestine or food pipe.

  3. Kaphaj-kaphaj vomiting is caused by vitiation of kaph dosha in body

  4. Tridoshaj- tridoshaj vomiting is caused by vitiation of vat+pit+kapha together

  5. Agantooj-external causes responsible for vomiting like worm infestation, unpleasant sight, smell, touch, taste, sound and traveling
