A painting exhibition 'Mirror Speaks' by 82-year-old Tarachand Pal 'Bekal' was organised at Reddot Art Gallery, Indirapuram on October 7.

A true fusion of fine arts, literature and patriotism was seen. He made historical events and moments come to life through his creative paintings. His imaginative skills portrayed the scenes of India's freedom at midnight, the moment when West Pakistani forces surrendered to Indian military creating an independent Bangladesh. He also painted portraits of famous social leaders like Rishi Bankim Chandra, Jawahar Lal Nehru, Shahid Bhagat Singh, etc. Two biographical books written by the artist were also launched.

Chief guest former Parliamentarian Dr Ratnakar Pandey, Padmashree Dr. Shyam Singh and other personalities from literature world were present.

Honours were also given to Sardani and Sardar Bhupender Singh Jass, parents of late Captain Devender Singh who sacrificed his life in Kashmir for country. They were felicitated by offering a flower bouquet 'Anga Bastram' and a portrait of the Kirti Chakra awarded soldier painted on glass by the artist.

Reddot art gallery founder also proposed to make efforts to raise funds for installing a sculpture of Martyr soldier Captain Devender Singh in the adjacent park after seeking cooperation and support from residents of Gyan Khand IV, Indirapuram and GDA officials.
