Think of the recent revolution in Delhi's art circuit and the first name that crops up is of artist Vishal K Dar. He's the one who visualised some of the best shows last year-Binod Behari Mukherjee retrospective at the NGMA, Satish Gujral's exhibition at Lalit Kala Akademi and the Amitava Das, Somnath Hore and Nagji Patel retrospectives at Gallery Espace. In 2005, he initiated a workshop at National School of Drama, dealing with new media in performance art and theatre. Interestingly, he also designed Stainless Gallery, which is currently showing his oeuvre. His steel sculptures are actually architectural visions that surpass the monotony of steel. The sculptural forms move across formats, from computer-generated data models to bamboo structures to handcrafted steel.
